Idsgn.org is a new design-centered blog with strong opinions about branding, graphic design, typography and whatever catches their eye that day. The site is published is Brooklyn, New York.
In particular, I liked the article about Helvetica man and the history of these pictograms, which were designed by the AIGA in the early 1970s for the Department of Transportation.
“Over the years, the symbols have become a standard in wayfinding, resulting in a set of icons we see and recognize on a daily basis (like the popular restroom and no smoking signs),” they wrote.
Idsgn also linked to this captivating short film, called Airport by Iain Anderson, that uses these infographics to tell the story of a man traveling in an airport.
